Horse Training The Natural Way

Though patience and diligence are two things that were commonly mentioned in issues dealing with horse training, these aspects, I believe warrants for another deeper understanding. These are two important factors that should be observed in a trainer because there’s no such thing that could replace or substitute for these things. Nobody has the right to underestimate the power brought about by these two simple words because they are really vital in achieving to all types of endeavors. It was already proven in many cases experienced by different people or even ourselves wherein we try to find a possible way, so we can make a shortcut around the issues of patience and diligence, but by doing this, we only end up to have  more problematic results, or it just develops other forms of negative results.

Another reason why patience and diligence are so necessary and have always been the focus of horse training because neglecting to use them would be very unfair to your horse.

A horse that is “trained” without the participation of patience and diligence may experience either of two things: he does not learn the many important things properly because these things might not stay for long in his mind, or he may become something else – a bit jumpy, hard- headed or head- shy, and he may even get to dislike the people in general. These situations are just some of the horrible things that might happen to your horse if his training is lacking of patience, just because you think that it is unnecessary.

Not each of us may have the aspects of patience and diligence and the best advice regarding this matter is to have someone else do it for you. The importance of these factors, I suppose warrants your full attention to it. We know our capabilities so if you think you don’t have enough patience to be able to conduct a horse training that would allow your horse to learn properly and enables you to apply the procedures which you to be instilled in his system, then, please do let someone else who has patience and diligent enough to handle him while during his training. This does not mean that a trainer should become insensitive to his feelings in a way he would just disregard the impatience which he feels towards many things. What we are trying to imply here is that you should not act on your feelings, whether anger or impatience, because allowing these feelings to surface would just cause you negative results.

Concerning about diligence, the principle why it merits importance is that, if you have the patience and the discipline of just letting your feelings subside whenever you feel angry and impatient with your horse, yet you are not diligent enough to follow through all the lessons you need in horse training, then those lessons are just scratch and patience would become useless. Just like humans and any other animals, a horse is in need of repetition for learning. So that’s why being diligent and well focused in training is very important so you’ll be able to establish understanding on the things that you want to teach him.
